SAN ANTONIO — Could there be a way to get more Texans subsidies on their health insurance? Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff says there is.
It’s called the “Texas Way.” Wolff and the so-called “Doctors for Social Responsibility” are urging the Texas legislature and governor to pass it. The plan would expand Medicaid with a private insurance model.
They say it would use federal tax dollars to help cover the people who cannot get either Medicaid or Obamacare. They say that would help reduce costs to hospitals, and that, in turn, would bring down individual health care costs statewide.
